Most people today have a Hollywood idea of the End of the World. It is thought of as if it were a movie directed by Cecil B. DeMille, or a television Sci-Fi extravaganza. God is coming to the planet, and "Boy is he mad" !! But surely, they think, it will all come out well, as all good fiction does. After all, in the end, God is a kindly old soul, and He supports democracy, majority rule, equality -- all that, and a bag of chips too. Sky scrapers may fall, tsunamis may overrun cities, and meteors might impact a stadium during a Super Bowl. Nevertheless, the stars and stripes will fly forever, just like fireworks on the Fourth of July, and life will continue supremely as the human family evolves. The delusion is staggering.
Few of us understand that The Apocalypse (End Times, or Last Days) are God's set time to deal with systemic evil. We think it is God's time to abuse us and strip us of our rights. To many, God is viewed as an interloper; one who comes without a proper license, to thrust Himself into the affairs of others, imposing His values and stealing our freedoms. Who does He think He is ?? Away with the idea of "anger", whether justified or not -- because of Man's poor stewardship of planet Earth; or Man's peace treaty with evil.
Not many of us would see The Apocalypse for what it truly is; God's long time destiny for Earth and the human race. At long last, His kingdom comes, and His will shall be done on Earth, as in Heaven. And it will mean a sudden, and violent end of idolatry, drugs, crime, pornography, abortion, a thousand other sufferings, and yes, the politics of each. For you see, The Apocalypse is the cleansing not only of Earth and humanity, but the cleansing of the Heavens as well. Very soon we will find out if the Devil is real or not.
The Apocalypse is the dawn of eternal life. The life and times of evil were never meant to be forever. God's purpose since creation has been to allow a season of free choice. Since the Garden of Eden the rule has been "Let man choose for himself whether good or evil", in every generation. There were two trees in the Garden, and they still are. The Tree of the knowledge of good and evil was represented by Satan, the deciever of men. The Tree of Life represented Christ, the True Vine. To partake of one was certain death, both spiritual and physical. To partake of the other was life, and health, and peace forever. The fruition of our choices was cast in the winds of history, and now the days of harvest are upon us. Unbeknownst to most men, silently, relentlessly, God's purposes have been marching on -- Plundering hell, and populating heaven. All of this has been "foolishness" to the wise man, the learned, and the powerful; and in many cases, even the powerless. Prophets and Sages, Seers and Wise Men spoke of these things from time to time, only to be stoned, tortured, and killed; persecuted and driven out. But no one has been able to stop the clock, and the hands are now reading 7 years before midnight -- plus or minus -- and who is going to stop The Sovereign One at His appearance ?? When The Apocalypse comes, nothing is ever going backward again.......EVER.
